Hey there! I'm Aura, a visual artist and designer currently based in London and Shanghai. My practice moves between photography, experimental moving image, AI-generated media and graphic design. I'm interested in creating visual experiences that sit somewhere between reality and dream — often raw, high-contrast and slightly uncanny.
My work explores relationships, loneliness, desire and intimacy, particularly the moments when connection becomes uncertain, distant or difficult to define. Rather than using design simply to explain an idea, I’m increasingly interested in allowing images, rhythm, light, sound and space to carry meaning on their own. I see design as something that should serve the image, rather than asking the image to serve the design.
Across different media, I’m drawn to ambiguity and emotional tension — between attraction and discomfort, beauty and alienation, closeness and distance. I want my work to create a space where these feelings can exist without being immediately resolved or explained.
